Motor Officer Patch is 4 x 3.8 inches with VELCRO ® brand backing.

The wheel represents motion, the arrow represents Precision and the wings represent Swiftness. The patch is normally worn with the arrow pointing forward. An average of 80 to 100 hours of training is required to be certified as a motor officer.

Police Departments have used motorcycles for traffic law enforcement and escorts since the early 20th century. Chief August Vollmer of the Berkeley Police Department is credited with organizing the first official police motorcycle patrol in the United States in 1911.
